Who Can Apply?
The scholarship is open to Nigerian undergraduate students who combine strong academic performance with genuine financial need. Applicants must: Be a Nigerian citizen aged 18 to 25 Have secured admission into an eligible Federal University in Nigeria Come from a vulnerable or financially disadvantaged background Have a minimum GPA of 4.5 on a 5.0 scale Demonstrate integrity, leadership potential and commitment to their education
Eligible Courses:
The scholarship covers a broad range of disciplines, including: Health and medical programmes such as Medicine and Surgery, Nursing Science, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy and Radiography Technology and sciences such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Mathematics and Statistics Engineering disciplines such as Electrical and Electronic, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Petroleum, Mechatronics, Agricultural and Environmental Engineering Humanities and Social Sciences such as Law, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Mass Communication, Psychology, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Business Administration, International Relations, Geography, Linguistics, Philosophy, History and Entrepreneurship
Required Documents:
Admission letter JAMB admission letter JAMB result slip WAEC or NECO result Birth certificate Local Government identification NIMC slip Two letters of recommendation Motivational letter Proof of financial need
Proof of financial need may include a parent or guardian's payslip, household income evidence, bank statements, or a letter from a recognised community, religious or educational leader confirming financial hardship. Students who have lost one or both parents may provide supporting documentation.
Benefits:
₦500,000 per year for selected students The award is for one academic year and can be renewed for students who keep meeting the academic and other requirements Renewal depends on good academic standing, good conduct, continued enrolment in the approved programme, and submission of academic transcripts or progress reports Scholars may also take part in Carewave mentorship and scholar activities
